The world has chosen its Modern Seven Wonders. Around 100 million voters around the globe participated in a poll to select the seven amongst 21 marvels. Preferences were sent through online, SMS and telephone.

The results were declared at a glittering ceremony at Lisbon on July 7. Taj Mahal, the only contender from India, virtually sailed through into the list.
